Hood Hinges

1. VENTILATION GRILLE PANEL.

2. HOOD HINGE.

3. NUT (ONE FOR EACH HINGE).

4. WASHER.

5. BOLT (ONE FOR EACH HINGE).

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Raise the hood and install the hood support..

2. Cover the front fenders and windshield with protective covers to

prevent damage to the paint and glass during hood removal and installation..

3. Mark the position of the hinges relative to the hood to simplify later

installation.

4. Remove the two mounting screws from each side of the hood..

5. With the help of a second mechanic, remove the hood from the vehicle..

6. Remove the nut and the bolt securing each hinge..

7. Remove the hinges from the vehicle..

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Install the hinges to the vehicle body. Insert the bolt and install the nut for each hinge. Tighten the hood hinge nuts to 8 N·m..

2. With the help of a second mechanic, install the hood and adjust its position using the marks made earlier..

3. Install two hood mounting screws to each hinge..

4. Check the hood alignment. Lubricate the hinges and latch mechanism.
