In some cases, leaking seals can be repaired without removing the glass.
and subsequent glass installation. This repair method is applicable only to glass installed with urethane sealant and requires the use of
materials from the repair adhesive kit.
PROCEDURE.
1. Remove the molding covering the leak area. In some cases, it may be
necessary to remove additional components in order to locate the
leak area.
2. Mark the leaking area. Carefully press the glass from the inside to
determine the extent of the seal defect. During this procedure, the glass must be sprayed with water from the outside. Mark the extent of the damaged area.
3. Wash the area adjacent to the leak with water to remove dirt and foreign
substances. Then dry with a stream of air.
4. Using a sharp knife, remove the sealant from the defective area over a length of 75–100 mm (on both sides).
5. Apply a primer layer to the damaged area using materials from the
repair kit. Stir the contents of the package before use.
Allow to dry for 5 minutes.
6. Apply sealant to the damaged area on both sides (over a length of 75–100 mm).
7. Immediately after application, distribute and press the sealant into the gaps between the glass and the window opening frame to ensure a tight seal. Use a flat spatula or another suitable tool.
8. Check the seal for leaks using a stream of warm or hot water. Do not
direct a strong water stream onto freshly applied sealant.
9. Install all previously removed components.
