GENERAL INFORMATION

Luggage Compartment Lid Torsion Bars (Sedan Body)

1. PROP.

2. SUPPORT BRACKET.

3. TORSION BAR.

4. RETAINING PLATE.

5. HINGE ARM.

6. HINGE SPRING

The vehicle does not allow adjustment of the torsion bars in order to

increase or decrease the lifting and lowering effort of the luggage compartment lid.

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Support the luggage compartment lid in the fully open position to prevent it from falling when removing the torsion bars. Install the tool on the right torsion bar near the left support bracket. Turn the handle forward and lift it to relieve the torsion bar end load on the retaining plate.

Turn the handle forward and lift it to relieve the torsion bar end load on the retaining plate.

2. Remove the right torsion bar from the hinge arm and hinge spring. Install the tool on the left torsion bar near the right support bracket. Turn the handle forward and lift it to relieve the torsion bar end load on the retaining plate.

3. Remove the left torsion bar from the hinge arm and hinge spring.

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Install the left torsion bar on the hinge arm and hinge spring.

2. Install the left torsion bar into the right support bracket. Install the tool on the

torsion bar and insert the torsion bar rod between the retaining plate and the bracket. Remove the luggage compartment lid prop.
