Trunk Lid Opening Seal – Sedan Body

The vehicle uses a closed-loop trunk lid seal made of soft, porous rubber. A metal element is molded into the seal,

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Remove the 4 screws and remove the rear luggage compartment trim panel.

2. Remove the seal from the flange of the trunk opening edge.

3. The connecting insert from the old seal.

4. Clean off adhesive residue around the perimeter of the trunk opening.

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Connect the insert and the new seal.

2. Install the seal on the flange of the trunk opening edge.

3. Check the seal is securely attached, making sure the seal

is fully seated on the edge of the opening around the entire perimeter.

Check the seal for leaks by spraying the trunk lid with a hose.

trunk, checking for water leaks into the trunk. If the required degree of sealing is achieved, the seal does not need to be glued. If water enters the trunk, remove the seal and reinstall it using adhesive.

4. Install the seal on the flange of the trunk opening edge.

5. Install the rear luggage compartment trim panel and secure it with the 4 screws.
