GENERAL INFORMATION

Rear Upper Side Trim Panel (Hatchback Body)

1. REAR UPPER TRIM PANEL

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Open the luggage compartment lid. Fold the rear seat cushion forward. Loosen the sill trim fastener and fold back the floor mat to access the

seat belt anchor bolt.

3. Remove the seat belt anchor bolt. Fold down the rear seat back. Remove the seat back locking device bolt cap from the holder.

4. Remove the seat back locking device bolt and the rear upper trim panel mounting screw. Loosen the door opening weatherstrip fastener.

5. Remove the three remaining trim panel screws. Release the panel from the clips.

6. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the panel from the vehicle.

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Install the trim panel into the vehicle interior and connect the electrical

connectors.

2. Engage the trim panel in the clips and install the three screws.

3. Install the door opening weatherstrip.

4. Install the seat back locking device bolt.

5. Partially tighten the seat back locking device bolt and nut.

6. Connect the seat back locking device to the bolt. Tighten the seat back locking device nut to 20 N·m.

7. Install the remaining trim panel screw.

8. Secure the seat back locking device bolt cap in the

holder. Return the seat back to the upright position.

9. Install the seat belt anchor bolt. Tighten the seat belt anchor bolt

to 35 N·m. Return the floor mat to its position and install the sill trim.

10. Close the luggage compartment lid.

11. Connect the negative battery cable.
