1. Mark the required vertical distance from the upper edge of the glass to the location where the bracket will be installed, see Windshield Marking for Rear View Mirror Bracket Installation (Start). Mark the bracket position on the

large-diameter circular line around the bracket mounting pad, see Windshield Marking for Rear View Mirror Bracket Installation (End).

2. Clean the inner surface of the windshield using a household cleaning agent and paper towel, or use a glass cleaner. Wipe the glass dry with a paper towel. Then remove any cleaning agent residue from the glass using a paper towel moistened with alcohol.

3. Abrade the bracket contact surface (if the bracket is new) with abrasive paper, grit 320 or

360. If the removed bracket is being reused, completely remove all traces of old adhesive from the contact surface.

After sanding, wash the bracket contact surface with a paper towel moistened with alcohol and allow it to dry.

Prepare the glass and bracket surfaces for bonding by following the instructions of the repair kit manufacturer.

Place the bracket on the windshield according to the markings and press it firmly for 30–60 seconds. After 5 minutes, remove excess adhesive using a towel moistened with alcohol or glass cleaner.

PROCEDURE.

1. Install the rear view mirror onto the bracket.

2. Secure the mirror with a 2 mm screw. See Fig. Rear View Mirror.
