Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Install a support under the open tailgate and protect the painted body surfaces adjacent to the trunk opening from possible mechanical damage.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector.

4. Disconnect the hinge clips and remove the gas struts from the tailgate.

5. Remove the retainers and remove the tailgate hinge pins.

6. Remove the tailgate from the vehicle.

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Install the tailgate on the vehicle.

2. Install the hinge pins and secure them with the retainers.

3. Install the gas struts on the tailgate and secure the hinges with the clips.

4. Connect the electrical connector.

5. Negative battery cable.
