GENERAL INFORMATION

The Idle Air Adjusting Unit is installed on the right side of the intake manifold.

Before removing it, disconnect the negative battery cable.

Removal and installation

PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the auxiliary air valve and the fast idle solenoid valve, and release the wiring from the retaining clips.

2. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the unit from the intake manifold. Remove the gasket and discard it; a new gasket must be used during installation.

3. During installation, make sure the mating surfaces of the unit and the intake manifold are clean and dry, then install a new gasket. Install the air adjusting nut and securely tighten the mounting bolts. Connect the electrical connectors and the negative battery cable.
