Removal

PROCEDURE

1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the air intake tube from the side of the air cleaner housing.

2. Remove the nuts securing the air cleaner cover, then release the retaining clips and remove the cover.

3. Remove the air filter element.

4. Remove the washers and rubber grommets from the air cleaner housing bolts, then remove the mounting frame and seal.

5. Remove the remaining air cleaner housing mounting bolts and lift the housing out of the engine compartment.

6. Disconnect all vacuum and air hoses from the air cleaner housing, noting or marking their installed positions.

7. The intake tube and resonator can then be removed after all their mounting bolts are removed. If necessary, the intake tube can be separated from the resonator.

8. Inspect the mounting bushings and seals for damage or wear, and replace them if necessary.

Installation

PROCEDURE

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Make sure that all air ducts and hoses are correctly connected and not pinched when installing the air cleaner housing.
