Inspection

PROCEDURE

1. Remove the air cleaner cover and air cleaner in accordance with the instructions in subsection 6.1.2.

2. Start the engine, gradually increase speed to 3000 rpm and hold it at this level. Close with your finger the vacuum hose opening of the air injection valve on the air cleaner housing base, then quickly close the throttle lever so the engine returns to normal idle speed. When the throttle lever is released and the engine returns to normal idle speed, vacuum should be present in the air injection valve hose. If not, replace the valve.

Replacement of the Air Injection Valve

PROCEDURE

1. The valve is located on the top of the intake manifold, on the right side of the throttle body.

2. Remove the valve from the retaining clip, then disconnect the three hoses from the valve, noting their installation positions.

3. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. When installing, check that the hoses are connected correctly.
