GENERAL INFORMATION

The auxiliary air valve is located at the front of the throttle body. Removal and Installation

PROCEDURE

1. Before removal, disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Follow the valve wires to the connector and disconnect it.

3. Remove the two mounting screws, then remove the valve from the throttle body and remove the gasket.

4. If the valve must be replaced, release its wires from the connector.

5. If you do not want to disassemble the connector, the valve can be removed together with the idle speed up device and the injector.

6. If necessary, after removing the valve, remove the mounting screws and separate the two halves of the valve.

7. Check that the valve plunger moves freely and returns quickly to its original position under spring pressure.

8. If not, the valve must be replaced.

9. Install in the reverse order of removal.

10. When installing, use a new gasket.
