Exhaust Manifold

GENERAL INFORMATION

Exhaust manifold on vehicles with a catalytic converter

1. Hot air intake hose

2. EGR tube

3. Exhaust gas sensor connector

4. Exhaust gas sampling tube

Removal

PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the hose from the manifold and remove it.

2. On vehicles with a catalytic converter, disconnect the exhaust gas sensor wires.

3. Unscrew the fittings and disconnect all tubes from the manifold.

4. Unscrew the bolts and remove the manifold cover.

5. Apply the parking brake and raise the front of the vehicle.

6. Unscrew the nuts and bolt and remove the exhaust pipe, remove the gasket.

7. Unscrew the nuts and bolts securing the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head, remove the manifold from the studs, remove the gaskets.

Installation

PROCEDURE

1. Install in the reverse order.

2. Before assembly, replace all gaskets, thoroughly cleaning the mating surfaces, and replace or repair any damaged studs.

3. Tighten the bolts and nuts with a torque wrench.
