GENERAL INFORMATION

Warning: Refer to the precautions in Section 6.3.1 before starting work. Removal: The pump is removed together with the fuel level sender.

PROCEDURE

1. Remove the sender, following the instructions given in Section 6.3.1.9.

2. If necessary, remove the filter element from the base of the fuel pump, then release the retaining clips and remove the plastic covers from the fuel pump.

3. Wash the fuel filter in a high flash point solvent.

4. Inspect the filter for signs of clogging or cracks and replace it if necessary.

Installation

PROCEDURE

1. If necessary, install the plastic covers on the pump and install the filter.

2. Make sure the covers are securely installed on the pump, then install the fuel level sender on the pump and install it following the instructions given in Section 6.3.1.9.
