Charcoal Canister – Models with 1.6 L Engine and Electronic Fuel Injection The charcoal canister is located either in the right rear corner of the engine compartment or on the left side of the engine compartment, depending on the model.

Replacement

PROCEDURE

1. Note or mark the installed position of all hoses on the charcoal canister. To avoid connecting the hoses incorrectly when installing the charcoal canister, mark each hose and port when removing them.

2. Loosen the clamps (if equipped) and disconnect the hoses from the top of the charcoal canister.

3. Remove the charcoal canister from its mounting bracket and take it out of the engine compartment.

4. Installation is the reverse of removal. When installing, check that the hoses are connected correctly.
