GENERAL INFORMATION

Warning: The fast idle solenoid valve is not sold separately. If it is faulty, replace the entire Idle Air Adjusting Unit. This unit is mounted on the intake manifold and includes the auxiliary air valve, the fast idle solenoid valve and the idle speed adjusting screw.

The fast idle solenoid valve is installed on the right side of the intake manifold.

Before removing it, disconnect the negative battery cable.

Removal and installation

PROCEDURE

1. Follow the wiring from the fast idle solenoid valve to its electrical connector, and disconnect the connector.

2. Unscrew the fast idle solenoid valve from the intake manifold, and remove the plunger, spring and sealing washer.

3. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Use a new sealing washer during installation. Check that the plunger and spring are correctly installed.
