Fuel and Exhaust System

Fuel/Exhaust Emission System - Models with Single-Point Electronic Fuel Injection

~1min read

GENERAL INFORMATION

The fuel system consists of a fuel tank mounted under the floor at the rear of the vehicle, an electric fuel pump installed in the fuel tank, a fuel filter, fuel supply and return lines, and a throttle body (which houses one fuel injector). The fuel system also includes the electronic control unit and its sensors, electrical components and connecting wires. The air cleaner is mounted on top of the throttle body and uses a replaceable paper filter element. WARNING: Many operations require removing or disconnecting fuel lines, which may cause fuel leakage. Gasoline is a highly hazardous and volatile liquid, and special care is required when working with it.

Residual pressure remains in the fuel lines for a long time after the vehicle has been driven. Before disconnecting any fuel lines, relieve the pressure in the fuel system following the instructions in subsection 6.3.1.
