GENERAL INFORMATION

The engine warm-up thermo valve is installed on the left side of the throttle body, between the upper and lower sections of the throttle body. Removal and Installation

PROCEDURE

1. Before removal, disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the air cleaner (refer to subsection 6.3.1.2).

3. Rotate the fast idle cam to disconnect it from the throttle linkage.

4. Align the hole in the cam with the hole in the throttle body and hold the cam in this position by inserting a 3 mm drill bit or pin into the holes.

5. Remove the mounting screws of the upper throttle body section, then carefully separate the upper section from the lower section.

6. Remove the gasket and discard it; use a new gasket when installing.

7. Remove the two mounting screws and the valve mounting plate from the lower throttle body section.

8. Remove the valve from its seat and remove the O-ring.

9. Install in the reverse order of removal.

10. When installing, use a new O-ring and a gasket between the throttle body sections.
