Engines with Fuel Injection

GENERAL INFORMATION

The fuel system of fuel-injected engines consists of the fuel tank with fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel lines, fuel injection system, and exhaust system.

Type: Electronic fuel injection system controlled by the Nissan engine control system (ECCS). Fuel injection engine codes: GA14DE (1.4 L) and GA16DE (1.6 L). Idle speed: see subsection 2.1. Electric fuel pump, located inside the fuel tank. Fuel pressure at regulator outlet: approx. 3.0 bar. Inspection data: Fuel pump winding resistance: 0.7 Ohm. Throttle position sensor resistance: See figure. Throttle position sensor terminals (manual transmission), Throttle position sensor terminals (automatic transmission), Knock sensor terminals. Between terminals A and B or 1 and 2: – fully closed throttle: 0.5 kOhm – partially open throttle: 0.5–4 kOhm – fully open throttle: approx. 4 kOhm. Injector resistance: 10 Ohm. Idle air bypass valve resistance: 10 Ohm. Idle speed compensation valve winding check: a click is heard when 12 V is applied to the winding terminals. Power steering pressure switch: – when steering wheel is turned, switch contacts are open – when steering wheel is not turned, contacts are closed. Coolant temperature sensor resistance: – at 20°C: 2.2–2.9 kOhm – at 90°C: 0.24–0.26 kOhm – at 110°C: 0.14–0.15 kOhm. These are approximate values only. Consult an automotive service center before replacing a sensor.

Recommended fuel: Vehicles with catalytic converter: unleaded gasoline with octane rating 95. Leaded gasoline is prohibited.
