Fuel Tank
Removal
PROCEDURE
1. Before removing the fuel tank, drain as much fuel as possible. It is preferable to empty the tank by driving, as there is no drain plug.
2. Disconnect the battery ground.
3. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it on stands.
4. Disconnect the filler neck from the body.
5. Disconnect the fuel hoses.
6. Place a support under the tank (a trolley jack is preferable).
7. Unscrew the bolts of the front heat shield (if equipped).
8. Disconnect the connector from the fuel sensor.
9. Unscrew the tank mounting bolts.
10. Slowly lower the tank, disconnecting the vent tubes as they become accessible.
11. Remove the tank. Mark and remove the rubber mounts.
12. Wash the tank and inspect it.
13. The tank is one-piece and made of plastic, so replace it if any damage is found.
Installation
PROCEDURE
1. Install in the reverse order.
2. Check that all hoses are routed correctly and are not pinched.
3. Before driving, make sure there are no fuel leaks.
