Idle-up solenoid valve The solenoid valve is indicated by the arrow.

The idle-up solenoid valve is installed on the front side of the throttle body.

Before removing it, disconnect the negative battery cable.

If necessary, remove the air cleaner by following the instructions in subsection 6.3.2.2 to improve access to the valve.

Removal and installation

PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the connector from the solenoid valve.

2. Unscrew the solenoid valve from the throttle body, then remove the plunger, spring, and sealing washer.

3. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Use a new sealing washer during installation. Check that the plunger and spring are correctly installed.
