GENERAL INFORMATION

Warning: The auxiliary air valve is not sold separately. If the valve is faulty, replace the entire Idle Air Adjusting Unit. This unit is mounted on the intake manifold and includes the auxiliary air valve, the fast idle solenoid valve and the idle speed adjusting screw.

The auxiliary air valve is located on the right side of the intake manifold.

Before removing it, disconnect the negative battery cable.

Removal and installation

PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the connector from the solenoid valve.

2. Remove the mounting screws, then remove the valve from the intake manifold together with the plunger and spring.

3. Inspect the valve plunger and spring for signs of wear or damage, and replace them if necessary.

4. Installation is the reverse of removal. Check that the valve plunger and spring are installed correctly.
