Carburetor Removal and Installation

Removal

PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable and partially drain the coolant.

2. Remove the air cleaner.

3. Disconnect the throttle cable.

4. Disconnect the carburetor wiring connectors.

5. Disconnect and plug the fuel hose (arrow indicates the clamp).

6. Label all hoses and disconnect them from the carburetor.

7. Remove the 4 bolts and remove the carburetor; remove the heat insulator or heater (on vehicles with catalytic converter).

8. Plug the opening in the manifold.

Installation

PROCEDURE

1. Install in the reverse order.

2. Before installation, check the cleanliness of the mating surfaces of the manifold and carburetor.

3. Adjust the throttle cable.

4. Top up the fluid.

5. Check and, if necessary, adjust the idle speed and mixture quality.
