The throttle position sensor is installed on the rear side of the throttle body.

Before removing it, disconnect the negative battery cable.

Removal and installation

PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.

2. Using white paint or a marker, make alignment marks on the throttle body and the throttle position sensor.

3. Remove the two mounting screws and remove the throttle position sensor.

4. When installing, position the throttle position sensor on the throttle body so that its lever correctly engages the throttle shaft lever.

5. Align the marks made before removal and lightly tighten the mounting screws. Adjust the throttle position sensor as follows.

6. Using an ohmmeter, check that the potentiometer resistance is as specified in the Specifications section (see subsection 6.3.2.1). If necessary, remove the mounting screws and rotate the potentiometer so that its resistance is as specified in the Specifications section.

7. When the potentiometer is correctly installed, securely tighten the mounting screws and connect the electrical connector.

8. Connect the negative battery cable.
